Teaching Kids About Service

I was so pleased to be featured on Pittsburgh Today Live yesterday to talk about how kids can honor those who are in service to their community all year around. We want all of our kids to grow up with an attitude of “how can I help people?” We can use holidays like Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Memorial Day to give great examples of those who have offered so much of themselves in order to make this world a better place.

We also talked about how to handle tough questions from kids and how to get kids to honor those who serve.

Watch the video for easy ideas to show appreciation and honor those who serve the community.

Are you a former or current service member? Are you the family of someone who did or does? Thank you!!

Do you have a special way that you honor those who serve? Share a picture or story in the comments below!

Can I ask a favor? Would you  subscribe to my YouTube channel where I share more parenting tips like this one. I would love if you would join me on Facebook and Twitter, too. Stop by and say hi!
